Krejza ton putsTigers on top AN INSPIRATIONAL display from skipper Jason Krejza (pictured) has put UTS-Balmain in the box seat of their Sydney first grade cricket clash with Parramatta at Old Kings Oval. The 23 year old all rounder starred for the Tigers with a timely ton and four wicket haul to push his claims for a recall into the NSW Speedblitz Blues lineup. Off spinner Krejza bagged 4-97 off 22 overs and combined with pacemen Craig OShannessy (3-40 off 13) and Nathan Ball (2-45) to dismiss Parramatta for 210 in oppressive conditions last Saturday. The Tigers No 3 then turned up the heat when he blasted a rapid century off 117 balls to leave his side in a strong position at stumps on 3-190 and poised to claim first innings points. Krejza (102 not out) hammered 19 boundaries during his 150 minute stint at the crease and aims to consolidate when he resumes this Saturday with Matthew Schenke (6 not out). Greg Hayne (7), Jeremy Bray (32) and Tim Sparke (38) were the Balmain batsmen to lose their wickets at 13, 80 and 177. Tailenders David Clarke (42) and James Parkinson (7 not out) gave the Parramatta total some respectability when they figured in a last wicket stand of 50 - the highest partnership of the innings. State selectors will monitor the progress of Krejza, who is engaged in a three way duel with off-spinning recruits Nathan Hauritz and Beau Casson for a regular berth in the Blues X1.
