Police Rounds Taxi driver attacked by three passengers A TAXI driver was assaulted then robbed by three passengers in Gladesville at about 5.25am on Sunday. At Bondi Junction the driver picked up three men, one European and two of Islander appearance, in their early 20s. They drove to Jordan Street, Gladesville when the men got out of the taxi and started to walk away without paying. The driver approached them and the men pushed him to the ground and assaulted him, punching him in the face. They took property belonging to the driver and left the scene. The driver was taken to the Royal North Shore Hospital suffering facial injuries. *
* * POLICE ARE appealing for help from the driver of a semi-trailer or any person who may have witnessed a collision in the southbound lanes on Pennant Hills Road at the intersection of Castle Hill Road, West Pennant Hills at about 2.40pm on Saturday July 14. A light blue coloured 2001 model Mitsubishi Magna driven by a 70-year-old woman collided with a semi-trailer as they travelled in a southerly direction. The impact forced the sedan into the rear of a blue coloured 1995 model Mitsubishi Magna station wagon which in turn collided with a white coloured stationary tow truck. As a result of the collision a 77-year-old male passenger in the Magna sedan was trapped and received spinal injuries. Witnesses or anyone who stopped to offer assistance is asked to contact Constable Skinner at Eastwood Police Station on 9858 5944. * * * A WOMAN, 26, was assaulted as she returned to her Doomben Avenue, Eastwood unit complex at about 2.45pm on Sunday (August 12). As she walked up the stairs, she paused to take her keys to her unit from her bag. She heard a noise and when she turned she saw a man standing directly behind her. The man pulled up the womans skirt and grabbed her buttocks. The woman screamed and the man ran off. The woman returned to her unit and reported the matter to police the following day. The offender is described as of Mediterranean appearance, 40-50 years old, large build, beard, wearing glasses, grey jacket and dark blue pants. * * * A WOMAN store owner, 50, was assaulted at about 5.30pm on Friday and received minor lacerations during the scuffle as she tried to stop a male intruder making off with cash from the till. The woman saw the man standing in the doorway of the office of the Khartoum Road, Macquarie Park store, and asked what he wanted. The man demanded money and as the woman went to leave the office the man stopped her and threatened to kill her whilst putting his arm around her neck. The man then pushed her towards the cash register and demanded that she open it. She complied and the man removed a small amount of cash from the cash register before running out of the shop towards Carlisle Close. The woman and a witness gave chase but the man was lost in a residential complex behind the shop. The man is described as 20-25 years old, 172-175cm tall, short blond hair, unshaven, large build, wearing a grey sloppy joe with hood over his head, grey coloured track pants and light coloured joggers. * * * A MAN who had his pants around his ankles whilst holding his t-shirt up exposed himself to a 21-year-old woman as she approached the front of her Herring Road unit complex at Macquarie Park at about 8pm on Sunday. The man took a couple of steps towards the woman before she let herself into the unit complex and closed the door. She returned to her unit and contacted police. A search of the area failed to find the man. He is described as Caucasian, 30 years old, dark brown short balding hair, fat build, clean shaven, 180cm tall, wearing black pants and a t-shirt. |
