Tunnel Traffic Down the Tube!

Lane Cove Tunnel financial viability is in jeopardy following much lower traffic use than originally predicted with numbers falling instead of increasing following the scandalous reduction of traffic lanes on Epping Road from three to one lane each way.

Lane Cove MP Anthony Roberts yesterday commented on reports that the Lane Cove Tunnel could be broke by next year unless its flagging patronage increases.

The predicted traffic flow figures were flawed from the beginning, Mr Roberts said, “and I pointed that out many years ago”.

“This whole exercise has been a giant stuff up from the outset just like so many of the other Iemma State Government undertakings and why we need to scrutinise any plans by this government to sell off the State’s electricity supplies."
