Have your say on draft plan

Residents can have their say this Saturday on what is planned for the City of Ryde over the next four years.

Centrepiece of the information at the inaugural Council Expo at the Civic Centre, from 10am-noon, is the draft 2008-12 Plan of Management, setting out in detail all of the planned activities and budget for the City of Ryde.

Mayor Clr Ivan Petch hopes there will be a strong turnout: “We are eager to get much more public involvement in our planning processes and staff have worked hard to make this Expo very interactive, to generate as much community feedback as possible.”

Displays at the Expo will focus on five specific geographic areas: Gladesville, Eastwood, Ryde, West Ryde, Macquarie Park, the Meadowbank employment area.

Council staff will be there to answer questions and you can get advice or make suggestions, plus enjoy a cup of coffee and a sausage sizzle at this informal gathering.

There will also be a play area for the kids, as well as some great giveaways, including free passes to the Ryde Aquatic Leisure Centre, gifts from the environment team and you can enter the draw for a free worm farm. Public parking is available behind the Civic Centre and the venue is wheelchair accessible.
