Talks to boost small business West Ryde small-business owner Stefan Sojka pictured with Ryde City Councils Economic Development Manager Paul William-Smith (left) discuss directions for the upcoming Small Business September events. Mr Sojka will be helping fellow business owners fine tune their marketing skills at a free master class next month while Council will host two free events as part of the statewide Small Business September 2008. The first, on Friday September 5 at the Graduate School of Management, Macquarie University, takes the form of Concept to Delivery - Marketing Solutions That Get Results. Mr Sojka of Cyrius Media Group will speak on increasing your online footprint, while Malcolm Auld of Malcolm Auld Direct will offer advice on how to develop outstanding creative work. Nicole Merhi of Fuji Xerox Australia will talk on successful marketing through print, while Australia Posts Michael Durie will discuss finding and keeping customers with direct mail. The second free half-day seminar, Growth and Competitive Advantage Through Innovation, will delve into how to access and engage with CSIRO and its partners, on Wednesday September 17 at CSIRO, North Ryde. Small Business September events provide ideas and techniques to future-proof a business through a challenging business environment.
