Golden memories for Margaret & Peter

Long time Denistone residents Margaret and Peter Cooper (pictured) celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary last weekend with family and friends.

The couple met at a CYO dance in 1951 and were married on September 6, 1958 at St Michael’s Church Meadowbank before settling in Denistone. Margaret was born in Coogee and grew up in Waitara and Concord West. She is a past member of The Inner Wheel Club Ryde and an active member and past president of Sisters of Charity Ex Students & Friends Association. Peter, who grew up in West Ryde, is a well known Rotarian with over 30 years experience. He is a past president of Ryde Rotary and former businessman at Cooper’s Tank Works in Ryedale Road West Ryde. Margaret and Peter have four children and five grand children.

They’ve enjoyed going to dances, the movies and picnics with friends.
