Re-birth of Electric Road Vehicles Talk Long time electric vehicles advocate L Roy Leembruggen will be guest speaker tomorrow week Thursday November 13 6pm at the Engineers Australia special meeting in Engineers Australia House at Chatswood. Roy Leembruggen is the co-founder and past national president of the Australian Electric Vehicle Association and he will speak on The 2009 Re-birth of Electric Road Vehicles. With 40 years personal electric vehicles experience Roy will review the past century of combustion vehicles and electric vehicles and chronicle the 2009 re-birth of electric vehicles commencing with the 1973 Oil Crisis. Roy was the inventor of the double deck trains first built at Tullochs Rhodes in 1964 and are now around the world. He now believes metal on metal is last century technology with rubber on bitumen better suited to todays needs. He will outline in his talk a program to create an Australian competitior to the global oil cartel and its cousin the CV industry.
