Culture trip for French students
Eight French students have arrived in Hunters Hill to experience a touch of local language and culture. Clr Richard Quinn officially welcomed the group this week on behalf of Hunters Hill Mayor Clr Sue Hoopmann. The welcoming ceremony and afternoon tea for host families and exchange students was held in the Council Chambers on Monday. The annual exchange program has been running for 20 years and is organised by the Hunters Hill Le Vesinet Committee. During their six-week visit the students will take a language and cultural tour and also go on holidays with their host family. The students - Marie Chatard, Stanislas Grobien, Ines Lecendreux, Anne-Charlotte Michaut, Antoine Michaut, Pauline Systermans, Alice Tripot and Hugo Van Mol, - had a seat on the commemorative bench that was donated to the community by the Hunters Hill Le Vesinet Committee. The bench is a memorial to mark the 20th anniversary of the friendship pact with Le Vesinet in 1998. |
