Walker celebration


Drummoyne Rowing Club stalwart Jim Walker and his beloved wife Beryl celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary recently with family and friends.The couple were married on November 19, 1949 in Rozelle Methodist Church where they met and both of their families attended. They still live in Top Ryde in the house Jim built not long after getting married.

Beryl and Jim were an integral part of the Ryde Wesley Methodist/Uniting Church and served on many committees there and Beryl was the organist for many years. Jim was a pattern maker and for many years has belonged to Drummoyne Rowing Club - from rowing in his youth and has been on committees there until recent years. They have five children: Janis, Lorraine, Geoff, Narelle and Lesley; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
