Threw a beer can at train

A TEENAGER has been arrested for throwing a can of beer at a moving train at Meadowbank Station.

At about 12.45am on Monday the man was on Meadowbank Railway station when he was seen to throw a full can at an oncoming train.

He was detained by transit officers and police attended a short time later.

A subsequent search found a pair of scissors and a screw driver.

The man was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station where he was charged with throwing an object at a train, custody of a knife in a public place, possessing break-in implements and breach of bail.

INQUIRIES ARE continuing following a collision between a vehicle and a 93-year-old pedestrian in Gladesville on Sunday. At about 8.20am a man was reversing his vehicle into a parking place in Pittwater Road when he struck the pedestrian behind him. The man was taken to Ryde Hospital in a serious condition.

A MAN, 45, was arrested for drug possession on Thursday. At about 1.50pm he was seen driving in Heritage Road, West Ryde.
He was stopped and a subsequent search found cannabis. The man was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station where he was charged.
