FOOTY FEVER grips TWT Tiger Territory this week with the advent of a footy season providentially in the official Year of The Tiger.

So all the omens are for a star studded glorious season of football for our beloved local Balmain and Wests Tigers footy clubs and teams.

Lots of interest stems around the footy tipsters competition too with Epping MP Greg Smith joining the tipsters panel this year to take on reigning champ and TWT Sports Editor Chris Karas.

Some say Chris is vulnerable this year as he seems to be distracted from football by a certain other attraction … wearing a skirt???

DOREEN GREEN my Auntie Doll and the last remaining sister of my Mum Renee Gladys Buckland Booth passed away last week at 96. Her funeral was last Tuesday at Wallsend near Newcastle with her three daughters Julie, Sally and Robyn and families and friends.

Doll was the twin sister of Gwen Lovett who was a resident of Denistone East with husband Gordon Lovett and children Diane, Chris and John.

Granddaughter Rachel Payne daughter of Julie and Bernie spoke as did JB who was announced as Doll’s favourite nephew. We propose having a little celebration of life down at Bulli beach near where she lived much of her life when we will scatter her ashes. May she Rest in Peace.
