Benji Magic Fires Tigers
Tigers Mr Magic Benji Marshall was at his magical best at Leichhardt Oval HQ on Sunday as he led the Tigers on the road to Grand Final Glory.
He kicked off proceedings masterminding the best try of the year only to be followed by two more for a hat trick of Benji tries and three converted goals for a personal scoreline of 18 in the Tigers 26-14 victory over the southern Mexicans.
Andrew Fifita justified Tigers supercoach Tim Sheens faith in him when he stormed over for the second try only to be followed by a second half try by skipper Robbie Farah to set the Tigers on their way to victory at 22-14 before Benji’s final act of sheer magic for the 26-14 scoreline.
Tigers are now in the perfect number two position on the NRL ladder heading into this Friday’s final showdown with the Gold Coast Tiddlies away and guaranteeing Tigers a home ground final game following week.
Club captain Lee Bennett was back to lead Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers to a 31-12 victory over Shellharbour Dragons at HQ Saturday to ensure a top finals berth for our State Cup favourites.
They host Wenty at 3pm this Saturday at Leichhardt HQ during the Balmain Junior Leagues Grand Final weekend before roaring into the finals series next week. See ya there. |
