Tim’s Treble as Tigers Snuff Dragon’s Fire
Tiger Tim Moltzen scored a match winning trifecta of tries to snuff out the Dragon’s fire at a stormy SFS Saturday night.
In howling winter rain squalls the Tigers roared and came from 8 nil down just prior to half time to show true grit and brilliance to race out 22-12 victors in atrocious conditions.
The Tigers are now perfectly poised for their Grand Final charge as they have shaken off the dreaded and unwanted pre-season mantle of premiership favourites.
Captain courageous Robbie Farah led by example as usual topping the tackle count with 50 followed by Liam Fulton with 33 tackles and he also scored the Tigers second try.
Mr Magic Benji Marshall was at his brilliant best again playing his usual leading role as playmaster for the try scorers and booting three over the little black dot in horrendous conditions.
Earlier in the curtain raiser the Tigers NYC Cup side courageously won 10-6 to maintain their possie in the top of the comp ladder and certs for finals honours.
To top off a great if blustery Saturday the Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers hosted the Kiwis from over the ditch to coincide with the Balmain Tigers Reunion celebrations at Leichhardt Oval HQ and they too are in finals contention.
Balmain Ryde Eastwood Tigers pick up easy points this weekend with a bye while Firsts and NYC venture to the Olympus stadium to cane the Hush Puppies Friday night.
See ya there.
