Ryde-Gladesville Catholic Parish and St Charles Primary School will hold their 17th annual Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea at Holy Cross College Ryde on Friday May 26 to raise money for Cancer Council NSW and help beat cancer.
Having raised more than $160,000 over the years, both Ryde-Gladesville Catholic Parish and St Charles Primary School are hoping to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet.
The event will be held from 9.30am to 1.30pm with a $10 entry.
There’ll be singers from the kindergarten classes performing live, an Elvis impersonator singing old favourites and various stalls selling delicious cakes, books and jewellery.
Schibello Coffee will also attend the morning tea so that guests can enjoy as many cuppas as they like.
“Our morning tea event would not be possible without the support of both the local community as well as the organising committee, said organising committee Chair Barbara Thiele.
“There is a team of six members who co-ordinate the event to ensure we raise as much money as possible for Cancer Council NSW,”
Now in its 24th year, Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is one of Cancer Council’s leading fundraising events and the largest, most successful event of its kind in Australia.
Costeen Sekhas, Community Relations Coordinator at Cancer Council NSW’s Metro Sydney office, said that an Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea can be held at home with friends or family, in the office with workmates, or a gathering in the local community.
“The theme of Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea in 2017 is ‘Gather, Share, Give’ so we are encouraging people across Northern Sydney to gather their friends, family or workmates, share a cuppa and their favourite food and give to those affected by cancer,” she said
