But Seeks Return at By-election!
JOHN ALEXANDER has resigned as MP for Bennelong but will seek re-election at the subsequent by-election expected in late December.
Speaker of the House of Representatives Tony Smith MP says he received the resignation notice from John Alexander last Saturday afternoon stating possible dual citizenship and was considering dates for the by-election as soon as possible.
Remembrance Day 2017 will certainly be a day to remember for John Alexander who prior to making his resignation decision had attended and participated in the Ryde Council Remembrance Day service at Meadowbank Park.
And the day before he celebrated the conclusion of his 100Km charity walk for Leukaemia throughout his Bennelong electorate raising over $10,000 for the Leukaemia Foundation.
