Council nominations close today 12 noon

Nominations close at 12 noon today for the September 9 local government elections in New South Wales.

Surprise announcement by Premier Gladys Berejiklian on Thursday July 27 cleared the way for nominations for the threatened forced amalgamated councils of Ryde, Hunters Hill and Lane Cove which were up in the air.

In Hunters Hill there will be possibly at least four candidates for popularly elected mayor following the decision of popular incumbent Richard Quinn

not re-contesting and the Liberal Party expected to stand endorsed candidates for the first time with Clr Zac Miles as mayoral candidate.
