Long time Denistone residents Sheila and Tom Lee recently celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary with family and friends.
The couple (pictured) were married on June 1, 1957 in St Patrick’s Church (non Cathedral) in Parramatta and lived at Carlingford for 26 years before spending the past three decades at their current Denistone abode.
They have three sons Bill, David and Martin; eight grand children and four great grand-children.
Tom emigrated from London as a 16 year old and has had a variety of jobs and several businesses. He loves to write travel diaries and has a passion for cooking.
Sheila is a sixth generation descendant of Morgan Power, a 1797 convict. Both are stalwarts of the Eastwood Probus Club. Sheila was involved in choirs and handbell ringing and competed in the Ryde Eisteddfod. She still plays the organ each week at St Therese Catholic Church Denistone and also enjoys tennis.
