A BATCH of promising teenage cricketers from the Elite Cricket Coaching Academy have savoured the trip of a lifetime to the Indian sub continent.

The eight youngsters, aged between 14 and 16 years, spent an educational ten day sojourn to the Global Cricket School in Mumbai where they honed their skills in testing conditions.

Under the guidance of Elite Cricket’s Head Coach and Director of Cricket Jason Krejza, the young tourists underwent four days intensive training; played full matches on turning Mumbai pitches and even managed to attend an Indian Premier League (IPL) Twenty 20 fixture between the Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers Hyderabad, who were captained by Australian hot shot David Warner.

Krejza, who etched his name in the record books when he captured 12 wickets in his debut Test for Australia against India in Nagpur nine years ago including a first innings haul of eight, said his group benefited enormously from the visit.

“The Global Cricket School is used by some of the world’s best players and provides a holistic cricketing experience that helps cricketers hone their skills and take their game to the next level,” said Jason.

“It was a great opportunity for the boys to undertake a unique cricket education and experience Indian culture at the same time.”

“They developed their games through the cross-cultural training and returned better cricketers,” he added.

Krejza scaled the heights of international cricket and wore the baggy green cap with pride during an eventful first-class career that spanned over a decade.

The off-spinning all rounder played Test matches against India and South Africa back in 2008 and was a key figure with both bat and ball for NSW, Leicestershire and Tasmania.

Now Krejza is pouring his energies into developing grassroots cricket in his role as Head Coach and Director of Cricket for his business Elite Cricket which is based at St Ignatius College Riverview servicing the north shore, northern suburbs and the inner west.

Elite Cricket strives to provide the best cricket coaching available to improve and develop skills, across all facets of your game.

Utilising state of the art facilities, technology and modern innovative coaching techniques, Krejza and his Elite Cricket Coaching Team offers high quality coaching, expert advice and a fun learning environment.

He has since retired due to injuries and is now coaching the next generation of Australian cricketers.

Krejza still has an involvement with NSW cricket as Head Coach of the North Sydney Cricket Club.

Jason has a passion for coaching with the aim of providing all players from beginners to professionals a coaching service that is innovative and non-restrictive to allow players to express themselves.

He has created a coaching philosophy that revolves around guiding each player in the right direction while giving hints along the way to help players develop a technique that is efficient, successful and ultimately their own.

A popular program is the Elite Cricket Pre Season Academy which is strictly for players aged 12-15 years.

Krejza says a good pre-season helps a cricketer hit the ground running come the first game of the season.

“Those players that do the extra work before the season starts are the ones who give themselves the best chance of succeeding,” he said.

“Elite Cricket’s Pre-Season Academy is a great way of getting rid of the cobwebs and start preparing for a big season.”

Program also features sports psychology sessions; high intensity fitness work; strength and conditioning information; high intensity fielding drills plus specialist coaches and appearances from guest stars!

Academy is held on Fridays at Shore School Indoor Centre at Northbridge from 6pm to 8pm at a special price of $550 (save $145).

Dates are August 18/25, September 1/8/15 and 22.

Limited places available – only 20 players maximum.

Elite Cricket also offers private one on one dedicated coaching with your very own coach.
