MAGDALENA ROZE our former TWT Miss Eastwood Granny Smith Festival Queen was featured in last Sunday Telegraph’s Stellar magazine opening up about her baby news and hubby celebrity chef of TVs MKR Darren Robertson. Magdalena credits her win in the TWT Granny Smith Festival quest as her springboard to TV fame and success. She was a popular winner. We wish her continuing success as well in her motherhood role.

MARION NICHOL of Denistone heads This Week’s Birthday Honours List celebrating tomorrow but sadly the first time without her beloved hubby Robert who passed away three weeks ago. Marion is our delightful songbird who has sung the national anthem for us at the official opening of the Granny Smith Festival on the stage in Eastwood for many years and also just over a week ago at the City of Ryde Australia Day celebration at North Ryde. Happy birthday Marion from all of us.

Nora Etmekdjian’s hubby Artin faces 56 candles on his birthday cake today while Ron and Deidre Thomson celebrate their twelfth wedding anniversary tomorrow and Elinor Higgins celebrates on Friday while Jill Woods of West Ryde parties on Saturday.

George C Robb a longtime former veteran director of North Ryde RSL Community Club celebrates on Monday same day as Wilson Fu of Eastwood Chinese Senior Citizens Club fame.

Former Ryde mayor Mick Lardelli AM would’ve been 96 on Monday which is the 69th wedding anniversary of Des and Joy Wadick. Mick Lardelli took my place on Ryde Council when I retired to start the Ombudsman campaign in 1965. Amal of Amal’s Discount Chemist West Ryde and mother of Dany and mother-in-law of Sandra and grandmother of Isaac Mikhail celebrates Tuesday same day as Margaret Greig of Forte School of Music.

Tuesday is also the ninth birthday of our darling Gwen Karas daughter of our TWT Sports editor Chris Karas and Vanessa who will celebrate with her big brother Clifford and friends.

John Peter Morrisby formerly of Ryde faces 74 candles on his birthday cake next Wednesday same day as Simon Harrop celebrates. Next Wednesday is also St Valentine’s Day so happy day all you young lovers – and all those who can remember!
