Tigers Ready to Rip and Roar!

Tigers showed at the weekend trials they are going to be the team to beat this year as they ripped and tore through the opposition like a hot knife through butter at Cameltown.

With half the Tigers stars sidelined they were still too good for the visiting North Bananabender Milkmaids who presented their full strength side skippered by their star leader Johnathan Thurston.

Tigers superstar fullback James Tedesco displayed some brilliant attacking form in his first appearance since breaking his jaw last year in a tackle in a limited time cameo performance including kicking a conversion goal.

Skipper Aaron Woods made plenty of metres and tackled non stop in a strong work out while shadow half Jack Littlejohn and giant backs Jamal Idris and rookie Moses Suli created havoc out wide with strong running attacks.

David Nofoaluma starred on the wing with two spectacular tries while powerhouse forward Josh Aloiai burst through to score the Tigers second try to set up the 12-6 lead prior to half time and 16-12 on fulltime before gifting the visitors a consolation charity try.

Equally pleasing was the performances by the Balmain Tigers junior rep sides in their opening round at Leichhardt Oval HQ on Saturday.

They decisively thrashed the Teddy Bears 78-34 with U18 SG Ball leading the way 56-12 promising even better to come.

Tigers Firsts will now concentrate on preparation for the opening round of the NRL season on Friday week March 3 when they will enjoy a good serving of roast rabbitoh at the Olympus arena. See ya there.

Tigers winger David Nofoaluma starred on Saturday with two tries.
