Tigers Slaughter Manly Silvertails!
& Welcome Home Benji!
Tigers fans were ecstatic Sunday arvo as they celebrated their best day of the year with a memorable win over the Manly Silvertails at Leichardt Oval HQ.
It was a day to cherish and remember as the new look Tigers showed their best form of the year to down the high flying Silvertails in both grades before an enthusiastic Tigers fans crowd.
And the icing on the cake was the announcement that Tigers favourite son Benji Marshall will be coming home to Leichhardt and Tiger Town next season.
Tigers new supercoach Ivan Cleary had his young charges really jumping out of their skins after half time when they were down 6 – 20 resulting in Kevin Naiqama zooming over for a quick try converted by five-eight Tuimoala Lolohea who had a blinder converting five from five for a man of the match performance.
Tigers started well with second rower Elijah Taylor galloping over for the opening try after just eight minutes but the Silvertails responded with four tries by half time.
However the second half belonged to the rampaging Tigers scoring 24 – 6 with tries to Tui, Sauaso Sue and a cliffhanger winning try in the dying moments by Malakai Watene-Zelezniak with Tui showing the difference with a perfect goal kicking score.
The Tigers will now spearhead a cleansweep final three games plucking the BondiChicks this Saturday at the SFS, followed Friday week at Cameltown versus the Milkmaids finally annihilating the Kiwis back at Leichhardt HQ Sunday September 3 at 6.30pm. See ya there.
