RYDE Community Sport Centre is giving the local public an introduction to Pickleball, a sensational new sport sweeping across Canada and the United States.
A combination of tennis, table tennis and badminton, Pickleball is played on a badminton court using special Pickleball paddles and aerated ball.
The sport, launched in Sydney last, is excellent for mature adults (seniors) as the ball stays airborne for longer, there is low impact and it improves coordination.
Ryde Community Sport Centre will conduct the first ‘Come and Try Pickleball’ competition on Fridays for an eight week period, commencing February 23, from 10am to 1pm.
Entry $10 includes all equipment. Contact RCSC 9878-2223 or Nicholas.Farmer@ymcansw.org.au
RCSC also offer specially designed YMCA Pryme Movers fitness classes each Thursday from 10am to 11am. Improve movement, balance and strength in a social and fun environment.
Cost $7 per casual visit or $50 for ten multi-visits. Free coffee or tea. Stay for a chat and socialise in Cafe afterwards.
