Police find cocaine in Hunters Hill

COCAINE was found by police in Hunters Hill last Sunday.
Police report the find occurred around 1.30am in Park Road alongside items related to the sale of the drug.

A 23 year old Artarmon man seen driving an Audi was arrested and charged with possession of the drug.

He has been granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Court on January 13.


TWO IDENTITY FRAUD suspects were arrested and charged at Macquarie Shopping Centre around 5pm on Friday.

Ryde Police report a 26 year old Ermington man and a 35 year old woman from North Parramatta were apprehended after an alleged attempt to use the stolen cards to buy items at the shopping centre.

“The man and woman were initially detained by security staff at Macquarie Centre; however, the male armed himself with a baseball bat from one of the shops and threatened staff,” police report.

“He ran off and was pursued by security who restrained him until police arrived.”

The man is also alleged to have been in possession of a small quantity of heroin.


A CHASE along Agincourt Road in Marsfield on Friday led to the capture of a 33 year old Ryde man on a police Wanted list.

The chase occurred around 8.30am on Friday after the man had been a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a random breath test and was recognised by officers as a person wanted on a number of offences.

“The man provided false details and ran from the vehicle,” police said.

“A police officer sustained a foot injury when he fell during the short foot pursuit; however, another officer continued the chase and arrested the man.”

He was later taken to Ryde Police Station where a number of credit cards were found in his possession.  He was charged with the outstanding fraud matters, goods in custody and resisting arrest.


A BRAWL broke out in West Ryde on Saturday.

Police report the brawl started around 12.20am when two men approached another male who was waiting for a taxi at West Ryde.

“One of the men allegedly pushed the male victim and then commenced to punch into him,” Ryde Police said.

“ The other man with the assailant also became involved after a security officer from the local hotel tried to assist. The altercation moved into the hotel where one of the men involved raised a chair and struck the male victim to the head.  A 29 year old man has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.


A ROBBERY occurred at a computer store in Gladesville on Friday.

Police report a woman entered the store around 1.50pm and allegedly stole two mobile phones from a display counter.

“The proprietor informed police this is the third occasion the woman has stolen property from his store,” police said.

She is described as about 35 years old, short blonde hair, medium build, Mediterranean appearance, stained teeth, wearing colourful pants, a light blue top and large sunglasses.

If anyone can assist in the identification of the woman then inquiries should be directed to the Ryde Local Area Command Proactive Crime Team.


AN I-PHONE was stolen in a mugging in Rowe Street, Eastwood around 11.20pm on Sunday.

Police report the victim was walking from Eastwood Railway Station across Rowe St, towards Blaxland Road when he was approached by two men.

They demanded his I-phone and other property and were last seen running across Blaxland Road, Eastwood near Dan Murphy’s.

Police are seeking information as to the identity of the two assailants, both described as male, Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall and both of solid build.  Both men were wearing hoodies.
