Police News: Woman, 31, carjacked in Eastwood

A THIRTY ONE year old woman was carjacked in Eastwood on Saturday.
Police report the carjacking occured around 9.30 pm when the woman returned to her car in Lakeside Road.

A man is alleged to have entered her car from the passenger side and threatened her with a knife with a demanding to leave the vehicle.

The woman complied with the demand and the man drove off in the car via the Glen Street exit. Officers from Ryde Local Area Command were notified of the incident and patrolled for the vehicle without success.

Her car is a white 2014 model Toyota Corolla with NSW registration CTB78N.

A WANTED man was arrested when the electric bike he was riding turned in front of a police car in Victoria Road on Monday (5/2/18).

Police allege the 33-year-old man was wanted in relation to a domestic incident.

He was placed under arrest and a search of his backpack located tools, drill bits and two lock picks on a set of keys of the type commonly used in house break-ins. A pipe for the drug ice was also found in his possession.

He was taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with possessing housebreaking implements and is due to appear in Burwood Local Court on February 19.
