Queens Guide Award for hard working Kimberley

KIMBERLEY Spencer of Eastwood Senior Guides was recently presented with the Queens Guide Award by His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley, Governor of NSW at Government House in Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney.

The Queens Guide Award is the peak achievement award for Youth Members of Girl Guides Australia and provides girls with an opportunity for extraordinary personal development and greater self awareness.

As part of the Queens Guide Award, Kimberley selected the Leadership Focus and has been volunteering as a Junior Leader with girls aged 6 -11 years at Eastwood Junior Guide Unit.

Eastwood District of Girl Guides has three Units: Junior Guides (aged 7 to 11); Guides (aged (11 to 14yrs) and Senior Guides (14 to 17yrs).

Girl Guides meet weekly and enjoy fun activities that develop confidence, team work skills and a caring attitude to the community and the environment.

Eastwood District is seeking additional leaders to assist with the Junior Guide and Senior Guide age groups.

Interested women (aged 18 plus) who are available in school terms should email Louise at eastwoodbilby@gmail.com to find out more about becoming a leader.
