Enjoy gardening tips at Willoughby Council’s free Time to Grow – Grow Young Expo on Thursday March 9 in the Dougherty Community Centre, 7 Victor Street, Chatswood from 10am to 3pm.
Join the garden share team for a fun day learning about backyard gardening, growing plants in small areas, cooking with home grown produce and pickling and organic solutions to garden problems. There’ll also be a special lunchtime presentation with Indira Naidoo, who’ll speak about Edible Balcony Gardening.
Program includes Veggie Gardening in Pots with Toni Salter ‘The Veggie Lady’ from 10am to 12 noon; Love Your Leafy Greens Cooking Demonstration and Tasting with chef Joanna Williams from 11am to 12 noon; Lunchtime presentation with Indira Naidoo – Edible Balcony Gardening from 12 noon to 1pm; A light lunch will be provided; Cornersmith Cafe Pickling Demonstration and Tasting from 1.30pm to 2.30pm; Organic Garden Problem Solving Workshop with Toni Salter from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
There’ll also be a pop-up Herb and Spice Garden to gain some edible inspiration for small spaces, as well as an Ergonomic Tools display for practical ways to help you keep growing. Inquiries Jenny Beer 9777 7974.
