GLADESVILLE locals Tyler Khor and Davy Dai (pictured) have achieved national recognition in the finals of Australia’s longest running culinary competition.
The Le Cordon Bleu chefs turned up the heat at the 2017 Nestle Golden Chef’s Hat Award national finals, battling it out at Fine Food Australia in front of a record-breaking crowd, taking home a silver medals for their entre, main and dessert courses.
Tyler, 22, and Davy, agd 20, produced a standout main course of porterhouse steak with miso infused mushroom, pickled rhubarb, yougurt and garlic emulsion, soft polenta, shaves of almond and margoram jus.
Making it to the top-ten finalist teams of Australia’s young culinary talent, Tyler and Davy were proud to be representing NSW Metro.
“We were a little bit nervous at the start but once we got cooking everything was OK. It was a very exciting competition and a great opportunity to meet other young chefs who are as passionate about food as we are.”
